Job recruitment and job hiring goes hand in hand, meaning, immediately after job recruitment, the process of hiring the right employees follows. Hiring processes can sometimes be challenging even for the top firms or enterprises because hiring the wrong employee is an expensive affair which would prove to be costly for the work environment of the organization. On the other hand, hiring the right employee leads to increased employee productivity, which overall has a positive impact on the work environment of the firm.
So how do I master the hiring process and hire the most suitable candidate? Given below are some tips and tricks, which will help you to choose the right candidate for your organization. Read on.
- Job analysis – Proper job analysis is highly important and must not be overlooked or disregarded. By job analysis we mean the analyzing of the job, collecting the right information regarding the duties, skills required, responsibilities, etc of a specific job. Accurate job analysis leads to a precise job description which is to be developed for the new employee. Hence, the employer should be clear as to what
sort of labour force he is looking for before job recruitment.
- Work in teams, formulate your job recruitment strategy – One can call for a meeting and discuss with colleagues regarding the job description and plan one’s recruitment strategy. You can never go off-track with a strategy in hand!
- Recruit the right candidates – This is the most crucial step of all while hiring employees, it is necessary to communicate with the potential employees and make sure that they are perfectly fit for the job before hiring them.
- Ask the right work-related questions during the interview – Job interview questions can make or break your job hiring process. It is crucial to ask the right sort of questions which can be very useful when separating the average employees from the desirable “superior” employees. Also, make sure that their salary expectations are congruent with the job you are offering them. The goal is to make everything crystal clear and leave no strings attached, or in this case, no doubts attached to the minds of both the employee and yourself!
- Avoid making common mistakes in job hiring – An effective employer knows how to differentiate the critical job skills through testing or discussions. It is very important that the employer should be able to decide whether whatever he is looking for is present in the potential candidate or not. Never settle for something which you are not looking for, this will cause problems over the time. The employer must make sure that they are hiring the right candidate for the right job.
- Hire the candidate for his job skills and experience and not for his personality –We all agree that it is nice to have a good personality on board in your organization. However if the candidate does not have the expected job skills or ability then it is best not to hire him. At the end of the day, it’s all about satisfying your customers and doing the job right, if the candidate fails to do that, then it is not profitable to hire him.
