Job recruitment is not an easy process and one has to make sure that one stands out from the crowd, instead of blending into it, if one wants to be recruited. The hiring process can be monotonous for the employers because they interview hundreds of people day in and day out and you need to have a distinctive profile or a resume in order to attract the attention of your potential employer.

In this article, you are going to learn how to write an attractive resume that is different from the lot. In order words, the human resources departments or the recruiters are looking for the personality of the candidate to come across in their resume, and it’s your job to make sure that they get what they are looking for, if you want to be hired.

The first step is to not follow the herd, do not use those pre-made templates or formats when creating your resume, start from scratch and create your own unique resume. You can, however, take a look at the sample templates and work your way from there, but never do a copy-paste job.

Secondly, you must make sure that your resume does not end up looking like the craft project of a six year old! Keep the writing style simple and fairly easy to understand. Keep it neat and above all clean! Do not beat around the bush and get to the point, make sure you list the facts that are most important right at the top so that it impresses the reader right at the initial stage of reading. You need to attract the reader’s attention and make sure you retain that till the end of the resume.

You might also want to try and play around with the fonts, but don’t go overboard. The effect has to be subtle and pleasing to the eye. You can experiment with different fonts, bolding effects, underlining, etc in order to make your headings stand out. Also, be sure to provide a contact number or an email id so that the employer can get back to you when they want to. Most of the people concentrate on listing their achievements and they forget to include their contact number, which is crucial for job recruitment process.

Also, if you have any past experience or participation in anything that you think would benefit the employer, don’t hesitate to include that in your resume. However, do not include trivial and unnecessary details. The last thing you want to do is to frustrate your potential employer or bore him with unnecessary details about yourself.

With these points in mind, I am sure it would not be a hard process to create your own unique and appealing resume. Having a good resume sure boosts your chances of getting recruited for the job; hence it is worth the extra time and effort which you put into for creating the resume. It would all pay off eventually.
